White Rock dental office celebrates inclusive approach to dental care
Johnston Road Dental is initiating a new era of diverse and inclusive dental care as it welcomes two new dentists to its team, each bringing unique perspectives and global training to the White Rock community.
Dr. Bradley Watson, who is joining the clinic this January is excited to announce the addition of Dr. Robyn Papadimatos and Dr. Simran Cheema.
Dr. Papadimatos and Dr. Cheema both trained in Sydney, Australia, alongside Dr. Watson, establishing connections early on that have now become the foundation for their collaboration in White Rock. “Robyn and Simran bring diverse cultural perspectives to the clinic but also a unique understanding of patient care,” Dr. Watson says.
“Our goal is to offer a well-rounded, inclusive environment where patients feel respected, heard and empowered to make informed decisions about their oral health.”
Both Dr.Papadimatos and Dr. Cheema worked in Australia for several years before making their way back home to Canada. Dr. Papadimatos is particularly adept at working with children. “Robyn has a way of connecting with kids that makes them feel safe and comfortable, even if it’s their first time seeing a dentist,” Watson shares. “We want families to know that every member can come to us and find the care and reassurance they need.”
Dr. Cheema speaks multiple languages other than English including Punjabi, Hindi, and Urdu and is able to communicate with patients in their native tongue, allowing for easier and more comfortable communication in the dental chair.
Accessibility and inclusivity in dental care
“When I was studying in Australia, I found that patients often felt more comfortable and at ease with female dentists, especially children and women. I think that trust and openness are essential to good dental care,” Dr. Papadimatos explains.
Dr. Cheema echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the team’s commitment to creating a welcoming environment for all patients, regardless of their background.
Johnston Road Dental provides a comprehensive range of services, from general cleanings and preventive care to advanced procedures like implants, orthodontics and endodontics. The clinic also offers cosmetic treatments such as teeth whitening, veneers and Botox.
“Our aim is to keep as many services in-house as possible so that patients can build long-term relationships with us,” Dr. Watson says. “And with Robyn and Simran on board, we’re able to do that even better.”
The new Johnston Road Dental clinic is located at 1418 Johnston Rd. Patients can look forward to the latest innovations in dental care, including guided biofilm therapy, a more effective and more importantly, comfortable, method for deep-cleaning teeth.
Johnston Road Dental will also be one of the first clinics in the area to accept the federal dental plan, making dental care accessible to even more residents. “With our new team, we’re better equipped than ever to deliver inclusive and quality care to White Rock.”
